Delivery Methods

The Fortran Store Delivery Methods and Timing

  • All orders receive an electronic receipt of their order and a sales number immediately upon checkout, delivered to the email address provided in your shopping cart.
  • The Fortran Tools and Fortran Tools orders with optional books are delivered by US Postal Service (USPS).  For US deliveries this is typically a 2-3 workday service.  For International orders including those in Canada, we utilize US Postal International Priority delivery.  Delivery times vary by country.  For more information, see the USPS Priority Mail website or the USPS International Priority Mail website.
  • Compilers from all our other vendors are delivered by methods supported by those vendors.  Orders may be processed for Electronic Distribution or Physical Distribution.
    • Electronic Distribution: Increasingly vendors are moving to Electronic Distribution as the preferred method of deliver.  Electronic Distribution typically involves delivering a license key or serial number to the customer via email, along with a download link to the product installation package(s).  Orders to our store must be manually forwarded to the vendor.  The time from order to electronic delivery is typically 1-3 business days USA Mountain timezone.
    • Physical Distribution:  Vendors providing software by CD or DVD packages use their preferred shipping method.  Choices include FedEx, UPS, and USPS.  For FedEx or UPS we will provide a tracking via email as soon as the product leaves the vendor.  Timing for physical delivery varies.  The Fortran Company must manually submit vendor orders to the vendor and this process takes 1-2 US business days.  Following that, the vendor may take 1 business day to process the order.  Following this, delivery depends on the shipping vendor selected.
  • PDF Books are delivered by email attachments to the email address you provide during Shopping Cart Checkout.  Delivery timing is 1-2 workdays in the USA, Mountain Timezone respecting all federal USA Holidays (no service during US holidays).
  • Physical Books are delivered by USPS Media Mail service.  Origin is our Albuquerque USA office location.  This service is typically 2-8 days plus 1-2 days to process your order.
